DR. COOPER-DOCKERY SCHOLARSHIP & VOCATIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
2022-2023
The Cooper Scholarship and Vocational Enrichment Program provides valuable Vocational Experience in the applicant's field of interest as well as a reference letter (depending on performance). A scholarship will also be awarded with 30-40% of the awardees' tuition at South Texas College, University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley or any other institution local to the Rio Grande Valley. Students who are accepted into the program and display excellent ethics may be afforded the opportunity of renewal for following semesters and the duration of their program of study.
How the program works
After receiving submissions, applications will be reviewed and the awardees selected. Awardees will be required to complete 4 months (20 hours per week) of Vocational Enrichment, after which the scholarship will be awarded the semester following the completion of this time period. Vocational Enrichment will take place at the Foodamed Vegan Restaurant and Emporium, which is a wellness-driven establishment operated by Dr. Dona Cooper-Dockery who has served the Rio Grande Valley as a Doctor of Internal Medicine since 1996 and helped many reduce or reverse their chronic illnesses. The Restaurant is affiliated with Cooper Internal Medicine and The Cooper Wellness and Disease Prevention Center.
